Fun Outdoors

Let’s face it, a city is much more than it’s malls and restaurants. Toronto is a great place to visit for so many reasons, and is a beautiful place to just walk around and explore. If you have an afternoon with nothing to do, take a stroll through Centre Island, Kensington Market, High Park, Edwards Gardens, or the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Centre Island is just a ferry ride away – and sometimes that’s half the fun! Bring a bike (available for rent too) or your rollerblades and explore one of the countless bike and rollerblading trails located throughout the island. If you have kids, there’s also a little amusement park full with fun rides as well as a ferris wheel, petting zoo, and miniature golf course. One of Toronto’s best picnic spots.

For the full amusement park experience, Canada’s Wonderland (9580 Jane St., Vaughan) is all you can ask for in a theme park – featuring over 200 attractions, 65 thrilling rides, North America’s greatest variety of roller coasters, Splash Works, a 20-acre water park and great live shows!

High Park is one of Toronto’s bigger areas to explore centrally located at 1873 Bloor St W. Let the kids play in the outdoor jungle gym or walk with them through the zoo. The oak savannahs in the park represent one of the most famous and admired aspects of the park.

Edwards Gardens is a favorite for Wedding photographs because of its elegant floral displays and rock gardens. Wooden arch bridges, a waterwheel, fountains and gazebos add to the charm of the gardens.

The Royal Botanical Gardens is another fantastic place to enjoy the smell and sight of flowers.

If you love Jazz music, the The Distillery District is full with great patios, food, live music, and shops. One of the nicer places to hover around during summer time. The Distillery District is Toronto’s first pedestrian only village and the city’s only historic district. One of the more romantic areas of Toronto, might feel as if you’re in a post card!

If you find yourself in Toronto during the winter, all is not lost. Nathan Phillips Square (100 Queen Street West) is a beautiful spot to skate or just walk around.
